First Village Festival

Wow… so I really haven’t been updating in…forever. Oops. Well, you should probably be happy that I am so busy I don’t have time to keep you updated up-to-the-minute. And very soon you will be completely updated, starting with this report on how the first village festival Steve and I put on went.

It was held in the village of Kaban Tua, on December 3. Kaban Tua is about 3.5 hours from Medan. Here is the flyer we handed out in the surrounding area a couple days before:

We are really happy with how the festival went! We were initially going to do two nights in the village, but the Jambur was already rented for the 2nd and the 4th, so we just settled with one night. We had music, and then I gave a brief testimony, and then Steve gave the main message, which was explaining the Gospel, that God loves everyone, regardless of social status, religion, etc etc, and that Jesus has taken God’s anger away and so on and so forth. And then we prayed with the people. There was a good sized crowd that came out to hear and everyone was very receptive to what we had to say. We heard testimonies at the end from people, which is always encouraging for us!

Here are some pictures:

Crowd Shot...

Here I am. Testify!!
...Sorry the pictures are so dark... they always shove their kids in one glob at the front of the crowd, but actually there are big people (adults, if you will) there too! Lots of them!

Here is Steve doing his thang... and some little girl apparently didn't have a good enough seat, so she came up front... I just noticed her now.

I think I blanked out for this part... I don't remember Steve and Susan threatening to eat everybody... but I see no other explanation for this creepy photo.

At the end of the night, this cute old man said his legs felt much better and he could move them without the pain he normally has! Susan is testing him here.
